Forest Service VFA Program

The U.S. Forest Service Volunteer Fire Assistance grant program in West Virginia is administered by the WV Division of Forestry. The program provides up to $2,000 with an 80/20 department match, for volunteer fire departments serving communities with populations of 10,000 or less. Eligible purchases can be both structural or wildland-related but a higher weighting is placed on those applications related to wildland suppression.
